A sunlit cypress-lined road — a destination chosen for the day, not a list

Destinations

A place that already feels like the day

Places are chosen around who is coming, how they arrive, how private the days should feel, and whether the wedding is one evening or several. Italy is where our published expertise runs deepest. Croatia takes that perspective across the Adriatic. Other destinations are considered around the people, the journey and the celebration itself.

Italy

The country map: how guests arrive, where they sleep, whether a property can be held, and how a multi-day programme actually moves. Destination weddings in Italy is the full guide.

Italian destination areas

Nine geographies the house currently evaluates

Lake, countryside, south, coast, lagoon, mountain, capital, island and Piedmont. Each asks different questions of where guests stay, how they arrive and how long they should remain. Specific properties are sourced for the brief.

Luxury destination wedding at a historic villa on Lake Como

Lake Como

Hotels and villas sit close along the shoreline; boats, steep access and coaches do not. Arrivals usually come through the Milan airport system. A multi-day programme works when water and road are one plan.

Luxury countryside wedding at a Tuscan estate

Tuscany

Estates and villas can hold several events at one property if the beds and kitchens are real. If not, guests scatter and the driving becomes the outline. Florence and Pisa are the usual gates.

Luxury wedding courtyard at a Puglian masseria

Puglia

Masserie in olive countryside, with the coast close enough to use, suit a property-led luxury wedding in the south — space, a few days, and a house that can hold more than dinner. Bari or Brindisi, then the transfer: the estate is the plan.

Luxury cliffside wedding terrace on the Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast

Cliffside hotels and private properties sit on roads that do not forgive a large coach at the wrong hour. Whether the group stays in one town — and whether water is used at all — depends on the stretch of coast. Boats are not a default solution.

Luxury wedding terrace on a Venetian canal

Venice

Palazzi, the lagoon and the islands ask for water taxis, porters and a luggage plan before anyone thinks about a dress. The city is already a ceremony — and already public. Privacy is hours, scale and which island the group actually sleeps on.

Luxury alpine wedding terrace in the Italian Dolomites

Dolomites

Mountain hotels and resorts can hold an alpine weekend when season and weather are honest. A buyout is useful where the property will sell it; many will not. Transfers are by road, and the indoor rooms matter as much as the view.

Luxury palazzo terrace wedding overlooking Rome

Rome

A historic city with hotels that already know international arrivals, and Fiumicino as a familiar long-haul gate. Urban logistics — cars, dress, a ceremony that does not become a tour — are the work. Nights in the same city before or after can sit beside the celebration.

Luxury wedding at a historic Sicilian villa

Sicily

An island, not one address. Coast, countryside estates and resorts sit in different destination areas, with different airports and driving times. Guests usually need more than a single night; two areas are two logistics plans.

Couple on a stone terrace above a vineyard wedding table

Piedmont

Royal rooms, vineyard houses and two lakes that do not share one outline. Guests usually arrive through Turin or Milan. The wedding is a choice of geography, not a tour of the region.

The Adriatic

Croatia

The Adriatic as a wedding geography: historic towns, islands, estates and hotel coastlines, with guest travel written in from the start. Destination weddings in Croatia is the full guide.

Regions: Dubrovnik · Hvar · Split & Central Dalmatia · Istria · Kvarner & Opatija.

How a destination is chosen

The country is not the first question

The first questions are practical and human: the season, the number of people, whether guests fly from one city or many, whether the ceremony is religious, legal or private, and whether the group should stay on one property.

Then the house looks at airports, driving times, hotels that can hold the group — or a buyout — and rooms that can actually be used in that weather. A beautiful photograph is not a plan.

If the answer is Italy, there is already a map. If it is Croatia, there is a country guide. If it is elsewhere, the same questions apply — researched for that brief.

Beyond Italy

International by orientation, Italy by published expertise

If the celebration asks for a country that does not yet have a page, the enquiry is still the right first step.
